Any specific reason for the assumption, that stats are cooked the same way in Europe as in US?

If there's anything omitted from the basket here in Germany, it definitely has nothing to do with everyday purchases that would make the consumer mad. IOW Im excluding all kind of backdoors the inflation can creep in and just discussing the consumer's impression of "How euro caused the prices to go up".

I think with euro its pretty much the same experience /impression the Brits had with decimalisation of their shillings and quids.
