That is the best you can do? A)JLA mentioned his mother; B)one doesn't mention one's mother's death to "invite comment", especially not mocking comments; C) it was not "impersonal", it was extremely personal. There are street corners where you can get a licking for saying "your mother wears army boots". I personally had to break-up a fight among school children because one had made a derogatory comment about the other's mother, even though he didn't know her and it was formulaic. When tempers are high, mentioning someone's mother in a schoolyard taunt is a red flag........
