In Prudhoe Bay they have been putting the natural gas they bring up with the oil back in the ground for the past 27 years . It is estimated their enough natural gas in the ground to supply the total energy needs for the United States for five years . What they have lack is a way of transporting it to the US . In the energy bill just pass by the Senate and going to conference with the House they are going to build a pipeline through Canada to bring this natural gas to the Midwest . It will take 10 years to build and consume half of the steel output of the present steel industry in the US .
You are certaintly right when the natural gas off Destin Florida could be brought ashore in less than two years and provide a much needed boost to our energy reserves ( 1.2 trillion cubic feet ).

Strictly politics -Bush has no logic for the economic well being for the country . Doing the same thing his father did by focusing on a war while not making the tough and logical economic decisions at home . I believed in the war but am starting to get the idea they are doing it half way . The military not going into Pakistan to wipe out the AL Queda sure reminds me of Vietnam .

Best Wishes
Bill
