I would prefer that they do something that gives both a message that we can't be destroyed as a country and a reminder that we will never forget those who perished...beauty and promise for our young. Mr. D. and I were in Paris last year and we went to Normandy. I have never felt such awe. All those lost lives are represented with markers but the grounds and the sound of the surf makes it a place of reverence and hope. I'm sure for those who have memories there, it evokes sadness. But for me, it was a beautiful sign of freedom. Marie
