A few items I noted:
(1) Stephan believes that within the next 5-10 years VLNC's large format Saphion product could replace the lead acid technology in the telecom sector, could compete for the automotive hybrid vehicle market, and could be a viable energy storage for the Utility Industry.
(2) Stephan repeatedly states that their exhaustive literature search (patents and trade/technical journals) did not show anything better than the Saphion technology. I would assume that he joined VLNC after a careful search. If he is right, the future looks good.
(3) He is currently focusing on the mobile computing market. He is aggressively engaging Tier I customers like IBM, Compaq, Dell, etc. with the the N-Charge product. Hope they get a PO or two before VLNC runs out of cash in the next 4-5 quarters; and achieve the cashflow breakeven point in FY 2003. Ram
