"Tony being admirable and good, even charitable"

Can you name one of the incidents other than the Kosovo charity ..ahem...situation.

The let's band together and keep the market up even though he claims he was short 65 stocks worth approximately 2 million and was liquidating his children's trust fund?

What else has he done that is strictly of a giving nature with no kickback to him?

<<$700,000 for a vacation condo? In a war-torn, ravaged country? With an unstable government? Where thievery and violence are an everyday occurrence? Where communications are sporadic at best? Where basic infrastructure is non-existent in 80% or more of the country?>>

Looks like $700k isn't out of line:

Beirut has come a long way from the war-ravaged mess of a decade or two ago:
state.gov
nato-pa.int
metametrics.com

That's not to say it won't slide back into hell. There's been several such cycles in the last 50 years. That does keep the construction companies, as well as the ammo dealers and undertakers prosperous.
