I've posted the links to this thread many times, but don't have them handy right now. It's interesting that, at that time, Intel was claiming larger gate lenghts, while AMD was claiming smaller gate lengths - probably because a gate can be measured at several points. But when the same team measured the two chips, they found nearly identical gate lengths.
