How did you know about Huck Fin? Not many people have read this story. It is the companion book to Tom Sawfish.

Sigh

I WILL have exciting materials this year. I even have googly eyes, which make every project a fun project. Are you familiar with googly eyes? The little plastic eyes that have dark centers that move around. They are also called wiggly eyes.

I built a castle with my daughter tonight out of foam and bobbin threaders. It is attractively sprayed silver. And I bought moss which we glued decoratively around the turrets. We've no idea why we made the castle. The instructor said she was to make one, and he was leaving the instructions vague "to encourage creativity", I personally think the man is an idiot. My daughter has no idea why we did this, or what we were supposed to be showing with it. NOT the best assignment ever. But I am going to save it, and send it to school with my son if he ever needs to do something like this. My poor darling daughter tried to go it alone. But when she came to me and asked me if it was ok that the cereal names showed through her painted boxes (painted red with finger paint- why? She couldn't say), the ones she was going to make her castle with, I decided she needed help.
