Thanks, Vet, seems that would be good news unless they gave into too much to the striker's demands, which is unlikely I would think. I bought some HGMCY near $16 as the XAU bottomed near 84.

Strike at Harmony's gold mine ends

May 28, 2002 (AFRICAN MINING MONITOR via COMTEX) -- The strike that began on 17 May at the Randfontein operations of the South African gold producer Harmony Gold Mining Co Ltd ended yesterday (27 May) after an agreement was reached between Randfontein's management and the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM).
Under the agreement the living out allowance of Randfontein's employees will go up to ZAR500/month immediately and will then be gradually increased to ZAR600/month by January 2005.

The two sides also agreed on a framework for building houses and family units for the employees to enable the single sex hostel system to be phased out. Randfontein's management and NUM will establish a joint committee to come up with a detailed programme on the matter.
