Is AMAT a good buy here? In my estimation it is but we could go lower still so don't buy on margin. Would you base that on technicals or fundamentals or other? Surely, it is in a better position than NVLS. I guess the market had expectations of it that mirrored what we saw from AMAT, leading to disappointment. Tomorrow, MSCI international index gets reweighted. US equity holdings increase from 53 to 56 approximately. Don't know how that plays into trading but a lot of the US big caps are probably in that index...so a large cap short term pop is could happen going into the weekend, possibly followed by weakness early next week. Add the fact that we are at month end, when a lot of mutual funds generally put cash to work.
