Possible TPMS stocks:

TRW owns a minority share of SmartTire, a fairly young, developing company in the TPMS industry (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). The TREAD Act passed last year, and new regulations released by NHTSA last week will require 10% of all new OPM autos by 11/03, 25% by 11/04, and 100% by 11/06 to have a TPMS. There are direct and indirect systems, and SmartTire makes a direct system, the preferred system according to NHTSA. SmartTire has entered into a JV with Visteon (ex-Ford sub, to manufacture and sell their TPMS. Check out their latest PR. Due your own DD. Just a head's up.
