It has everything to do with deferred revs. That is how they create the reserve. JFD

You confuse the danger of intentionally overstating revenues to a shareholder with the almost non-event, securities-wise of understating current revenues.

Your post is so dumb, it is unbelievable you graduated from Columbia as you state in your profile.

Maybe you "attended" Columbia for "a short period of time" by accidently getting off the D train at 125th and tried walking to the Cotton Club.

Or maybe you meant, in your profile, the Columbia School of Broadcasting.

You don't want the truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want Microsoft to defer that revenue, you need Microsoft to defer that revenue.

We use words like accrual, reserve, match income with product life. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending and accounting for something.

You use them as a punchline.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain accounting to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way.
