Perhaps, OTOH the strike issue was settled well before the close. HGMCY needed to pull back and it got it. A couple of lower volume consolidation days would be ideal here, before we start back up.

Part of the weakness in HGMCY and GFI is in the dollar rand relationship. For the first quarter of this year the rand continued to weaken against the dollar. Since April 1 it has risen from .089 to .101. Since both companies expenses are denominated in rands but their sales are in dollars, they did very well with a weak rand. As the rand strengthens, their profit potential declines. There was an article this morning somewhere in space which stated this but I have now lost it.
I unfortunately, didn't sell my GFI and will probably now hold it as an investment. I expect that the bulk of the selling is over, though a test of the 50d MA currently around 12.6 would not be unexpected. If we successfully test 50dMA I would buy some more, buy calls or sell some puts.
