Yes, Gibson's stuff probably can be trusted. I remember when his SpinRite first came out. I purchased and used it on the PCs of that day. There was nothing like it. IMO it still performs functions that no other readily available software does.

We have cable thru RCN and keep losing the modem connection, the service technicians have told us its a problem with ZoneAlarm. Are there certain settings in ZoneAlarm that should be adjusted? When we run thru a 56k modem, the disconnects do seem to reduce drastically.
