My two cents... if you don't believe a penny was rightfully made from copper and a nickel from, uh... a nickel? (copper trades at approx. $1580 per tonne and nickel at 6600 which gives us a ratio of 4.20) And a dime at one time was made from a piece of silver -- then you'll never accept that gold is being considered (once again) as a currency. Yes it's an alias to the dollar and that been proven once again by it's rise due to the fears of inflation and U.S. dollar devaluation ... certainly 9-11 had no lasting effect and neither will the troups along the Pakistan/India border. But it will affect the U.S. dollar? -- war has always without exception been inflationary.
