OK thanks. You are maybe right.

I have some contacts that know Egypt and Sudan fairly well (Archeologists) and they usually know whats going on. They have too... because of the wars etc. I'll check with them. My retired parents also went to Egypt on vacation this year. You can stay in 5 star hotels real cheap these days of heightened security awareness. I know for a fact a lot of Egyptian business people are real pi**ed off with terrorists for ruining the valuable tourist trade. The Egyptian authorities just arrest suspected extremists and shoot them without trial. The mothers are then called to collect the bodies... so I have been told...

The number of foreign nationals detained by USA security forces without trial after the WTC tragedy still remains high. I expect the vast majority of them are innocent of any crime.

Unfortunately there seems to be little intelligence and lots of bickering and political in fighting going on amongst the security forces. They can't even get out of their own way, never mind catch any terrorists.

So we have a large number of numbskull bureaucrats, unable to make a decision even under normal circumstances, holding sway over detainees.

Fortunately the freedom movements are making headway, and it's becoming clear that to be arrested without trial in the USA is still better then being arrested without trial in Egypt...

OK, just got off the phone with the guy who is responsible for this site...

thearchitecturestore.co.uk

(he's my bro in law) and has spent a lot of time in Egypt and the Sudan both before and after the WTC tragedy. He spends a lot of time wandering around on donkeys looking at old stuff.

He confirms that the "news story" is baloney as far as he knows. He would know too. Should have asked him in the first place I guess.
