the entire tax system needs badly to be overhauled. Perhaps one of the few positives to come out of the coming financial ugliness will be nuttier and nuttier things will be tried by the govt. to get the economy going again, and maybe if we're lucky one of these nutty ideas will be a drastic change in our tax system. BTW, I agree completely with MarginMike on the absurdity of taxing people on what they've earned their whole life, and it appalls me that most people see this as ok or acceptable.
