Correct-- the initial product sucked badly. MSFT had no incentive to produce a good product until the major mfgs decided to get into the mkt and have a profitable share. The media has implanted the "big bad msft' image to sell advertising and a few state AGs are wasting tax $$ to make political hay,, The consumers wanted a better product than palm or msft provided-- msft took the ball and ran..
