I believe that Kildall was not impressed with IBM and made the reps wait. The reps were used to being treated like they were gods from a higher empire and were offended. They thought they would be able to find another OS else where. I believe they may even have left without actually seeing Kildall.

although this is basically true, the reason they had to leave was because Kildall and his wife refused to sign the non disclosure agreement......(the worst luck of all is the kildall's had a lawyer sitting there).... well, i'd call it stupid... but whatever.....

which IBM being a lumbering beast, so ingrained with the proper procedures to follow, had to have this non disclosure happen to continue forward....

so they went back to MSFT..... lucky Bill...... nothing wrong with luck though..... someone was going to luck into being the richest person in the world..... couldn't happen to a more fitting person......
