It's harder to find a matching long position. If I'm hedging a country fund like SNF, I almost always find what I need in the ETF, since many country funds are just closet indexes. Trying to match high yield funds for duration, coupon, leverage, sector exposure, not to mention looking for a good manager and low fees.. What if your best-matching open-ender has a load? What about turnover? There's just a whole lot less to consider if you find an index-like country fund at a premium. SNF/EWP was an easy trade. -mb
