I'd like to ask a follow-up question if I may re: some of the covalent complexes formed and post precip/carbon col/or electro treatments...

Not sure what the follow up question is, but fire away, I may or may not be able to answer,...if carbon or sulfides are present, they can absorb or complex with the cyanide, making it unavailable to complex with metal cations. Then there would be another balancing act,...the cost of say autoclaving, roasting or a floatation circuit versus the cost of the additional cyanide and perhaps finer crushing.
