I once had a boss who was the ultimate Pollyanna, which was problematic at times as he was reluctant to deal with problems. It was in one of those perplexing situations that a lady in the office said about him, "He can look at a pasture full of cow patties and see only daisies." Sounds as if someone in your vicinity had a more entrepreneurial view of things.

Texas abounds with town squares, mostly in county seats with the courthouse occupying center stage. Have you been to Jefferson and Fredericksburg? They're interesting towns that don't have a square as the focal point, if I remember correctly.

Yes, I like the sound of Hissy Fit, as well as Conniption Fit, as in "He's about to have a conniption fit".

Have a Hissy Fit.
Throw a Hissy Fit.
Pitch a Hissy Fit.

They're all good, but I like the last one best.
