Many thanks to both you and Don for the hard work on the charts and tables respectively.

At some point the stronger than expected economic data will help the SOX and NASDAQ to rise. I am hoping the current oversold condition will give rise to such a rally especially for the SOX but Friday's action was disappointing at best.

As usual, great charts Gottfried! I particularly like the one comparing semi shipments and semi-equip bookings.

suite101.com

This clearly shows both curves have been increasing the past few months - very similar to the previous upturns in 94/95, 96, 98 and now 02.

The eventual slope of the curve(s) just starting and how long they will run remains to be seen, but they are off to a good start.

Interestingly, the semi-equip bookings have reached a new high in each of the upturn periods, but semi shipments did not. Semi shipments in 97 did not reach the high level set in 95. Of course, both entities reached extremely high levels in 00.

What might be very interesting to look at is the NASDAQ superimposed on this same chart.:)
