B: PC Sales Up 19.6% in First Quarter

BEIJING, Jun 3, 2002 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- China's PC market reports 2.05
million sets in sales volume, 19.6% more than the same period last year; and
17.17 billion yuan in sales value, up 15.3%, according to MII statistics.

Laptop computers post the fastest growth rate among all computer products
whether in terms of sales volume or sales income, growing by 43.6% and 30.8%
respectively; the corresponding figures of PC servers stand at 20.9% and 7.5%
respectively.

An important feature in the Spring PC market is that the price of laptops and
servers is dropping at a much faster rate than that of desktop computers.

<Employees say morale seems to have improved ...>

Yes, but from what I heard... it didn't sound like it could do anything but improve.

Just having some of the people cut so others knew they were safe, for now, would help a bit.
