I think they do. I believe there's a mutual respect there. They were very close to my grandmother and loved to hear her tell the same stories over and over again. They looked forward to seeing her and telling her about every itty bitty thing they did in between visits.

People today just don't have the extra time it takes to interact with older relatives. Both parents work, they have the kids off doing two or more after school programs and before ya know it, the older family members get seen a couple times a month if that much. If they live out of state, it's even longer between visits.

I'm glad the kids have the opportunity to experience the past with a varied group of people.
