"There is hope in a nation here-to-for filled with terrorists, where for decades there was none."

Well, I hope so.

But the pessimism is from our own administration, however, not me. All I see are claims of bureacratic bungling, and statements to get ready for radiological and biological attacks, that we've never had before.

We have never had claims from our government of a "lifetime war" and "inevitable attacks" on our cities, combined with bungled excuses and cover-ups pointed to by agents in our intel services.

At the same time, the economy is rebounding only with difficulty, and will continue to be difficult unless the political confidence is restored.

The FBI agent, Newsweek, Republican senators, Bill Kristol, and The Weekly Standard don't all have liberal Democrat agendas, my friend.

Re: "Economically we are recovering. Bush's tax cuts are having a positive effect, and our businesses are increasing productivity at an astounding rate."

You must be obtaining your financial information from newsmax.crap as well.

Story in this weekend's online Wall Street Journal says second-half economic recovery doubtful. Much of the so-called "growth" over the past 12 months has been obtained through smoke, mirrors and fuzzy accounting.

From the story:

"... Companies can only slash costs so much, and sales aren't improving a great deal. According to Mr. Paulsen, nominal GDP, or the value of goods and services produced in the U.S. measured in current prices, rose just 2.8% in the last year -- that's near a 40-year low, he says.

These weak sales figures come despite a 5.6% surge in first-quarter gross domestic product. More than half the growth came from businesses increasing production because they emptied warehouses and cut inventories so much last year, something that's only a temporary boost to the economy. Continued strength depends on more capital spending, and that fell at a 5.7% rate in the first quarter.

Economists anticipate that growth will slow from the first quarter's pace, making sales gains even tougher to forecast.

"Until you can accelerate that top line, it's going to be hard to believe the bottom line is sustainable, unless you believe we can cost-cut ourselves to prosperity," Mr. Paulsen said.

Mikey,
So you are admitting that the WingNuts were wrong in spending $40 Million to investigate Clinton, that Rush Limbaugh and his ilk were wrong to talk everyday on the radio about their hatred of Clinton(Which by the way, Limbaugh said just last week ."We are still trying to get Clinton!" You speak of hatred, but obviously have no mirrors in your house.

You posted..."That's where the logic of your mental model clearly breaks down. Even if everything you said were true, (which it clearly is not in my eyes), how does attacking our President over and over without any real solutions to offer yourself help alleviate the things you're concerned about?"

Mikey, wasn't Clinton "our" President and didn't Gore get more votes than Shrub? Man, it must be hurting to try and get your shoe on the other foooot.

Excellent post Mike. Very well said. Logic and facts however hold little appeal to your intended target....
