Itanium is utterly dead as anything but a niche product. It's back to the drawing board for Intel - again.

You think an 800 MHz Clawhammer will be faster than a 1 GHz Itanium 2 built with aluminum and 0.18 micron features?
That vaunted AMD 0.13 micron SOI process with copper and low k dielectrics sure isn't providing much boost to AMD's newer products, is it Dan3?

Maybe you can tell us all how far Intel is behind AMD in process technology.
Thanks in advance.
