RE:"Jim, so far Wall Street hasnt been impressed with all of this Hammer hype. So far, the only ones who have bought into the hype are the AMD-ites, the likes of Milo, Dan3, etc."

Well, we both know the markets are snake bit right now. Check the PE of the NASDAQ 100 too. So argueing over hammer and P4 is really like the proverbial arrangement of the deck chairs on the Titanic.
Even if Hammer hype looks good most Analysts are running so scared they aren't like to recommend any tech. If they recommend any tech it will be old gorillas like Intel.
Right now Hammer could blow P4 off the performance map and AMD stock could lose value.

RE:"IMO, AMD should have directed their resources to processers for the wireless, consumer electronics market because we are finally about to witness the convergence of the PC/electronic appliance/phone/TV. Or, they should have put more resources to flash. Instead, Jerry wants to take on Intel, a very dominant supplier, in a mature market, PCs. Dumb move"

Excuse me but wireless is going where?
Flash has bottomed?

Well, it's really not for me to say AMD should get out of CPUs or not. If AMD wants to beat their head against Intel that's their perogative. All I say is that if your gonna do it...do it right.
AMD is converting FAB 25 (austin) to flash so maybe they are following what you suggest.
