As far as those who are responsible for protecting me or my family, if they fail, I have one way to gently console them. Are you ready? Gee, if a few competent, serious types get fired too, that's too friggin' bad. This isn't a social club or a charity organization. I have absolutely zero sympathy for any organization or leader of same that gives the slightest excuses for failure to protect life and safety.
