But, I hear you. Not too many places that have our freedoms, but I am sure Maurice will let us know who has more!! That was interesting about genes and women though. The women in my family have always said that!!!

M,

Couple things. First, this has been kind of frustrating. This is my last post on this. This is way off topic and not really accomplishing anything. I was trying to get you to prove some point or say something. But you didn't.

<<WE are the government Chris>> No, we aren't. This is not a democracy. The president is elected by the Electoral College. Most laws are actually proposed by career bureaucrats and voted on by an extremely tiny minority of the population. The Executive and Legislative branches are 'checked' by an Oligarchy chosen for life and appointed by an extremely tiny minority. What country do you live in?

In Chicago in 1995, it was not 'WE' who were being investigated and thrown in jail by the FBI during Operation Silver Shovel. It was a bunch of career politicians/criminals. I don't remember 'you and me and our neighbors' getting together and deciding to break into the Watergate Hotel. Or illegally fund the contras and lie to congress about it (remember Ollie North?). No, we are not the government. We elect the government, but we aren't the government.

If you aren't afraid of the US Government, why not? You say you have read the Constitution. Tell me, what portion of the Constitution is not devoted to protecting people (US citizens and otherwise) from the US Government? Not much. How many hours a week do you have to work to pay taxes for using your cell phones? Anyone run that by you to see if you thought that was ok? Do you think Qualcomm might sell a few more phones if the price of ownership wasn't made 25% higher by the US Gov?

Then you said <<I don't recall saying that US citizens shouldn't be this or do that, but since in your opinion I did then I guess, as you said, this conversation is over. >> I don't know what that means. What are you referring to?

And, you said <<Of course I expect everyone must take their shoe off if asked. In my opinion that is a small price to pay to preserve my right to live. Call me naive or disingenuous if you will (oh wait, you already did.)>> While you are at it, care to lay out what else you think is a small price to pay? What about things that are medium size price to pay? Maybe a just a couple things that are a big price to pay? You appear comfortable making these decisions for the rest of us. Anything else you want to decide for me? Am I paying enough taxes? Working enough hours a week? I'm being a little sarcastic, just to prove a point. That should be obvious. Is the point I'm trying to prove obvious yet? Oh, and I never called you naive. You certainly aren't that. Disingenuous, yes. Did you really mention 'the murder site' because it was germane to a discussion about the Constitutionality of the actions of the US Government? No, you sure aren't naive...

I have to admit Mo, this has all been very frightening talking to you.

Chris
