Feeling bad about something is the human quality that initiates the adjustment process when facing one's own imperfections. We refer to some people as "well adjusted." How does one become well adjusted? Well, this would be a good entry point for neocon but to simplify, I would say that one has to be able to proceed as follows:

1) Self identify behavior, emotion, attitudes, perception, etc.
2) Recognize the position of the attributes in item one in relation to some norm. For example if the behavior is movement: am I still, walking, running etc.
3) Assign a measure against the norm. For example am I running at a slow pace, fast, faster, etc.
4) How is my behavior situated in the circumstance. Am I running fast, with scizzors, on ice?
5) Self assign a value on behavior that can be judged against the circumstances. If JLA's mother sees this behavior, it may be judged as a bad thing. However, if the Escamo parents of the child bound under the kiyack, by a cord, at the edge of the Ice Burg see it; they may judge it as beneficial.
6) Establish general guidelines that represent direction toward beneficial outcomes.
7) Act according to a set of guidelines that represent a direction toward beneficial outcomes.
8) Evaluate the success, failure, or relative successes and failure of one's actions toward beneficial outcomes.
9) Monitor and "Adjust" one's actions toward beneficial outcomes.
