It has been quite a while since I made any major furniture investments. I was fortunate to select furniture that I continue to like. None of it is from Ethan Allen. Their styles were too colonial for my taste. Perhaps they've broadened their range since then.

I have been in furniture stores, though, in the not too distant past, and I'm sure I saw oak. I was shopping for lamps and not paying much attention to the furniture. Perhaps five years ago I was shopping for a pair of etageres and I found a wonderful style in oak. As it turns out, I decided, instead, to reduce the amount of stuff I had rather than buy additional furniture to store it. I still mourn them, though.

This is my headboard. In oak, of course.
