Jeff: So did I and the service pack also cured the annoying printing bug that Word X would not print documents originally created in Word 95, 98, 2001 of which I have about 5,000.....

>>I just installed the Office v.X Service Pack 1 (at microsoft.com. What a pleasant surprise! All of a sudden the Office stuff is not the slowest and buggiest software I have. In fact the suite is downright snappy!<<

Jeff -

I'm downloading the service pack now. Meanwhile, I was reading the release notes, and found something interesting under New Features:

"Quartz Text Smoothing

If you are using Mac OS X version 10.1.5 or later, Office can now take advantage of the Quartz drawing engine to smooth the edges of text."

I hadn't realized that a 10.1.5 release of OS X was out. In fact, I don't think it is yet.
