IMO, the President is aware that there can be no peace until there is justice for both sides of the conflict.

Yes, the Prez is aware of that. He has also been told that umpteen times by moderate Muslim leaders around the world. One of those Moslem leaders is the Dr. Mahathir, the Prime Minister of Malaysia. He is highly regarded by Bush for his help and co-operation in the fight against terrorism. Thanks to Dr. Mahathir, the U.S. got a good handle on the Al-Qaeda in S.E. Asia. I believe the Pope also told the Prez about the need for effecting a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue.

It is really unfortunate the Middle East conflict is such a pesky one. It is very easy for me to say that whilst ensconced in the safety of my home in Western Canada. From my vantage point here, I can see an interplay of so many negative elements going on over there, like pride; fatalism; fanaticism; sense of destiny; superiority complex; overconfidence; cockiness; exuberance; greed; opportunism; ignorance; stupidity; stubbornness; anger; vengeance; aggression; impatience; desperation; foolhardiness; cruelty; callousness; grief; sorrow; intractability; intransigence; distrust; mistrust; envy; jealousy; fear; suspicion; paranoia; persecution complex; deceit; double-crossing; underhandedness; treachery; chagrin; pessimism; sloth; apathy; and, oh well, you name the rest.....................
