Thank God they are honest. We may sustain another attack. Do you dispute that? And we will nevertheless endure as a nation, and fight on, right? And no one can say when there will be zero risk from terrorism. It is a lengthy project, although a considerable reduction in risk is possible in the nearer term, nevertheless, continued vigilance is the the condition of safety. Do you dispute that?

MSI,

You have to understand that this war on terrorism, although very real, has and will serve many purposes:

1- Shutdown opposition. Because if you oppose during war time (which is basic democracy, by the way) you are a bad citizen.

2- Shutdown the press. If questions rises about how the administration handled 911, send all your staff, one after another, with an alert message ...

3- Biggest increase in Defense budget since World War II. Most of the money will be used to build a missile defense system that Clinton refused because it simply doesn't work. The military industry didn't like that. But with Bush, they are happy. Money is coming their way.

4- Take money from Social Security to finance tax cut for the rich people. During the last presidential campaign, some members of the press warned the american people that the Bush numbers didn't add up and that he would be force to take the money from Social Security. George Bush dismissed those comments by referring to them as fuzzy maths. Now, he has a convenient excuse: war.

5- Take away immigrants rights and liberties while advocating for it in the rest of the world.
