In a country where you are told the truth: that there will be more attempts, but that we will survive and flourish. Where it is a matter of public record that there were errors in tracking terrorists (in many countries, such material would not see the light of day), and there are efforts made to improve domestic intelligence and the coordination of intelligence among various agencies. Where markets are relatively free, and people are allowed to spend their money according to their judgment. Where capital markets reflect the uncertainty of many people having been burned in the initial correction; the uncertainty of war; and the after- affects of market scandal. And, by the way, if housing starts decline, it will because of cyclicality. There has been a lot of new building in the last few years, it makes sense that it should slacken.........
