Hi wstera_02! That bird did look similar to an American Coot, but just a little different. Still can't figure out what it was and it wasn't there a few minutes later when Mrs. RR came down the drive. Wanted her to see it but it left. She knows the birds better than me. I was up at sunrise Sunday morning, sippin' on a hot cup of coffee on the deck. I want you to know that those hummingbirds were already dive bombing the feeders, and the sum was barely coming up! They were at it all day and were still dive bombing them at sunset with the sun almost all down. RR
