As far as results I think Eisenhower would top everyone past George Washington.

At the start of WWII Eisenhower was a Captain in the US Calvery in Central America, a post with no hopes of promotion.

After his Presidency Eisenhower had an approach and putting green built on his estate. One day some of his horses got loose and were wrecking the green. He said to let them go, he enjoyed watching the horses have some fun.
