Ah, so he hasn't finally recognized the obvious. He's simply after the environmental votes, just like the union votes and the pork-fed farm votes. Silly me. Should have realized that. It's just that it's hard to believe that some people still deny that the earth revolves around the sun.

That combination is not obvious even now, let alone "for a long time".
