Hi Don, Re: I 280 to SF from San Jose there seems to be an awful lot of open land, mostly very hilly and I guess protected Most of the land to the west of 280 is owned by the San Francisco Water District. You are looking down on the rift valley of the San Andreas fault. Climbing the fences at Crystal Springs Reservoir and skinnydipping is highly recommended. Just not by the authorities. <g> There won't be any new large developments along 280, just infillls in existing communities. -R.
