Why is it that we don't remember what happened before President Bush?

What took place in October 2000? Who was president then and what did he do? What happened in August 8, 1998 to US embassies in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania? Who was president then and what did he do? How many reports did the past president of the US need?
