Of course, if the negotiating company had been a major (PDG, Newmont, etc...) with references, experience, qualified staff, etc... and a history of paying its bills, the story might have been different. But Manhattan who ???

Then again, the majors did not get involved because they knew that it was a hopeless cause or than Manhattan just plain wanted too much and mismanaged the asset!

In the end the conclusion is the same: MAN go look elsewhere.

Marcos, MAN was promoting the poverty in the area. Posting on their website dirty streets etc. You got to ask the question. If there wasn't a problem with the locals in the first place how did MAN obtain the option? Why not Billiton Cambior or Buenaventura?
