Chinmoy Roy:

It is my opinion that freezing the LOC does nothing toward solving the source of the current problem--Pakistan's claim on the territory or returning Kashmir to an independent status.

It is also my opinion that all the arguments being made on here by Indians are being used to lend authority to India's claim to the land and doing nothing to address the underlying causes of the problem.

I restate my position--which I don't expect you to agree with. This is: That the only permanent lasting solution to this mess is for both India & Pakistan to relinquish their claims to Kashmir. Furthermore, this would be of immense benefit to the economies of both countries as they could then put their resources into development instead of into armies.

Peace.

Bill
