Broadcom is announcing new products left and right and seems to be positioning itself strongly for the next round of technology expenditures.

It is only a matter of time before businesses must upgrade their tech infrastructure. During this whole tech slowdown, R&D has continued at all major innovators, INTC, BRCM, MSFT, CSCO, JNPR, QCOM, etc...

....well a "while" means bad news for you in the Trash Talk Book ,, ...Buddy..<GGG>

...seriously 1-3x sales and it's interesting to me, That's at least 50% lower, 12-13 bux down to single digits...maybe.
BUT FIRST...
Lets see how their accounting pans out, how the option account pans out..blaa blaaa..BLAAA.
Look at Adelphia dude, now this TYC hero that trys to skip out on some taxes...wonder the how this guy paid for some of those hot cars, etc.. You have to watch out on who's naughty or nice ya know :-) bad news is some of the nice guys play naughty in drag,(if that makes any sense?)

I'm not saying these guys are dirty..but their accounting was aggressive in school so, how do they play out of school, ..coin that one :-) It's getting picky now too cuz everything accounting wise is under a microscope....per the latest weeks/months headlines.

All the products look great...that's cool..problem is lots of competitors, margins...demand etc not good yet...might not till next year or longer, who knows for sure?

till next time,
mr.Trash

ps...good thread here:
whole NDX is still in la la land,, valuation wise

ATI buys set-top chipset biz
By Drew Cullen

ATI is fleshing out its set-top portfolio with the $20m cash purchase of niche chipset designer NxTWave Communications.

The acquisition will help ATI build "highly integrated chipsets to set-top customers providing lower cost and greater functionality". To be specific NxTWave will provide the demodulation technology in the front end communications, combining with ATI's back end XILLEON, an integrated MIPS-based CPU.

NxTWave will bring 55 staff - 50 engineers - on board, and additional expenses of $8m a year. The acquisition which is expected to close 28 June is 'mildly dilutive' for ATI's Q4, but is expected to be accretive thereafter.

ATI has also announced a set-top design win for the XILLEON 220 with Scientific Atlanta, which is to incorporate the chip into Explorer set-tops. ®
