If third world countries had an easier time selling goods in the US then they would have an easier time paying back the loans.
I won't argue that. I think that in general they have a severe reluctance to reciprocate, though.

And I think Steven was arguing for forgiveness of those debts, a favorite Liberal hobbyhorse. That is simply a way of transferring the debts onto the backs of US taxpayers.
