...but easily allow avoidance of taxes on domestic profits as well, through transfer pricing that reduces domestic profits to zero, and puts them in the offshore entity. That's the catch. You can open an offshore account and company, sell all your stuff to that company for $1, buy it back for $2, and sell it for $2. Your US co. breaks even, and the offshore co. makes $1. There are regulations to prevent that, but they are practically unenforceable, if you spend enough time subverting them.
