We are hearing an unconfirmed rumor that BC may make a bid for BFT, with some saying BC could pay as much as $27 per share; while this rumor has been circulating all day, we have not been able to confirm it and have heard a number of skeptics pan the idea due to BFT's high debt level.

Reports Q2 (Apr) earnings of $0.39 per share, $0.02 better than the Multex consensus of $0.37; revenues rose 13.5% year/year to $185.6 mln vs the $184.9 mln consensus; sees Q3 revenue in the range of $230 million and $240 million vs the current consensus estimate for revs of $207.3 million; sees Q3 earnings in the range of $0.48 - $0.53 per share vs the current consensus estimate $0.56 per share.




16:35 ET EFDS eFunds lowers guidance, CFO to leave (13.25 -0.08)
Co lowers Q2 and 2002 guidance and announces that CFO Paul Bristow will be leaving the co on June 30, 2002; expects Q2 rev/pro forma EPS to be $130-$134 mln/$0.11-$0.18, vs prior guidance of $139-$145 mln/$0.24-$0.26; expects 2002 rev/EPS to be $520-$535 mln/$0.55-$0.80, vs prior guidance of $624 mln/$1.18. Company announces it will record pre-tax charges of approximately $2.0 billion to $2.5 billion, primarily in the second quarter. These include charges associated with the company's exit from the hard disk drive business, write-offs of assets in the Microelectronics business, and charges related to productivity initiatives, principally workforce reduction.
