JDN,
I think it admirable that your Diocese sent out the letter. Only wish that more of them would. The millions of dollars that has been spent on this issue is horrible. But to blame the media as the bad guy in this is ludicrous.

I have a good friend that left the priesthood, and I know why! He was wise enough to realize that his sexuality was a problem for him, and I admire him for taking the course of action he did. He is a fine individual and I hope the best for him in the future and I hope that his life is a happy one.

JDN, your experience reflects mine. Thousands of Priests Brothers and Sisters who give their entire life to serve God and a very small number are sick, are sinners and do evil. Now consider the accuracy and honesty of reporting facts and issues of the media and I can well understand the ridicule and disgust at the putridity pimps of the media.

The purpose of the Bishop is to minister and save all in his flock. The example of how all should be treated come from the life of Our Lord. I don't agree with sending out such a letter. The Priest, the Bishop is first responsible to Our Lord and then the state.

I cannot comprehend assigning some guilt because a Priest forgave sins and is ministering to all his flock and especially the egregious sinner.
