Thanks, Dude, for the unexpected (and mostly undeserved) compliment! Guess 'knowing stuff' is better than being 'all hat and no cattle' (another Texan phrase I love). I thought the Andalusian reference made a useful point: that no religion has a monopoly on morality... and that most any religion will - if put in a position of dominant political power - tend to grasp for Theocratic rule. ...Our founding fathers look better and better all the time: respect and allow free exercise of religion, but prohibit the State's establishment of a mandated religion. (A variation on the principle of 'divided powers' that keeps any one branch of our government from overwhelming the others? If we permit many forms of religion, perhaps no one of them will ever reach for Theocratic rule....)
