Guess 'knowing stuff' is better than being 'all hat and no cattle' (another Texan phrase I love).

I thought the Andalusian reference made a useful point: that no religion has a monopoly on morality... and that most any religion will - if put in a position of dominant political power - tend to grasp for Theocratic rule.

...Our founding fathers look better and better all the time: respect and allow free exercise of religion, but prohibit the State's establishment of a mandated religion. (A variation on the principle of 'divided powers' that keeps any one branch of our government from overwhelming the others? If we permit *many* forms of religion, perhaps no one of them will ever reach for Theocratic rule....)
