The Catholic church has changed, and so can Hamas and Hezbollah IMO Using the European wars of religion as a model, we have about a hundred years of fighting to go. Catholics and Protestants fought each other to exhaustion in Europe before they signed the Peace of Westphalia in 1648. The Muslim world has a long, long way to go before the battle of Islamists vs Modernizers is settled. I don't think it is Israel's place to become involved in Palestinian politics They can hardly help it. Believe me, they would be glad to let the Palestinians alone at this point, if the Palestinians didn't insist on blowing them up.
